GENERAL MANAGER - BOUTIQUE HOTEL/SERVICED APARTMENTS Location: Furano, Hokkaido, Japan Organization: Japan Fresh Powder Pay Range: ¥4,800,000 – ¥6,000,000 (approximately $46,600 - $58,300 USD) p.a. Plus Profit share scheme based on % of Net Profit Negotiable based on experience and skill qualifications. Position: Full Time Management Position (45+ hours a week) Reporting to: Company Directors Website: freshpowder.com Job Summary: This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic hospitality professional to come in and manage all aspects of Japan Fresh Powder’s luxury accommodation portfolio. As the General Manager you will drive exceptional levels of customer service and be responsible for taking what is already a successful business to the next level. Duties and Responsibilities: You will manage and oversee all operations respective to Japan Fresh Powder (JFP) Apartments including but not limited to: Management • Recruitment, scheduling, training and supervision of staff • Maintenance of company website, booking software and online booking channels. • Planning and implementation of marketing strategies in consultation with company directors • Analysis of all areas of business operations, identifying problems and/or inefficiencies and offering suggestions. Implementation of appropriate corrective measures. • Building/maintaining relationships with local service providers • Ensuring supplies and equipment are well stocked and in good condition. Arrange replacements, maintenance if necessary. • Coordinating the minor construction works, painting and preventive maintenance of apartment facilities. Occasionally provide manual labour/maintenance around the properties • Implementing company policies and procedures. • Ensuring compliance with all safety, fire and sanitation regulations. Keeping in mind the safety/security of guests at all times. Accounting • Development and adherence to operating and equipment budgets in conjunction with company directors • Maintenance of statistical and financial records. Performing data entry and manage accounting software. Liaising directly with accountant for tax return and tax compliance • Tracking operational transactions including but not limited to: cash float, banking and purchase receipts • Developing and administering operating and equipment budgets in conjunction with JFP owners • Maintaining systematic filing system Customer Service • Answering guest telephone and email enquiries • Maintaining direct contact with guests to ensure full satisfaction • Handling all complaints in a positive manner • Processing reservations through online booking software • Assisting in booking third party services • Checking guests in and out Performing other related duties as assigned. Key Skills and Qualifications • At least 3 years’ experience in hospitality, hotel management, or other customer service role • Good knowledge of hotel operation procedures • Understanding of basic accounting practices • Exceptional customer service skills • Good time management skills • Ability to manage and motivate staff, and build working relationships with contractors and third parties • Demonstrate a high level of autonomy and exercise mature judgement • Hold a Post Graduate degree in Management, Hospitality or similar field. Diplomas in Hospitality or similar fields will be considered along with strong work history. • Fluency in spoken English and Japanese. • Ability to read/write Hiragana, Katakana and intermediate knowledge of Kanji • Hold a Japanese driver licence • Valid permit/visa or right of abode in Japan • No Previous criminal record To apply please send an email with your cover letter and your resume to: email@example.com.
